Call for Universe PhD Awards 2009 now open

Once a year, the Excellence Cluster Universe honors two outstanding PhD theses submitted in the fields of particle-, nuclear- and astrophysics. These awards are given to a promotional work in the category “theory” and “experiment”, respectively. Each award is endowed with 4.000 Euros. Further, the winners will be invited to present their dissertations in a talk during the Science Week from 12 to 16 October, 2009.

The call for the Universe PhD Award ‘Theory’ and the Universe PhD Award ‘Experiment’ is now open. The deadline for nominations is 1 September 2009. Candidates for the award have to be nominated by their supervisors. Both candidates and supervisors are expected to be members of one of the partner institutes at the Excellence Cluster Universe. The theses must have been submitted, reviewed and graded between 1 October 2008 and 1 September 2009.
