Prof. Burkert nominated member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts

Prof. Dr. Andreas Burkert has been nominated regular member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (EASA) . The European Academy of Sciences and Arts was founded 1990 in Salzburg and aims at creating a network among European Scientists and Artists by interdiscplinary exchange in oder to cope with problems and questons relevant for Europe. One major topic is the queston on "Health is Wealth - Strategic Visions for European Health Care at the beginning of the 21st century" on behalf of the European Parliament.

EASA currently counts about 1200 members form 23 countries, among which 19 Nobelprize winners. The academy is devided into 7 classes.

The formal ceremony took place in the framework of a Festplenum in the castle 'Schloss Leopoldskron' in Salzburg on March 3rd 2007.
