Symposium "Symmetries and Phases in the Universe"
The Excellence Cluster Universe will host the second ‘Symmetries and Phases in the Universe’ symposium. The event will take place at Kloster Irsee (Allgäu) – the same venue as the first symposium in 2008 - from February 27 through March 1, 2012.
Cosmology and physics of the Universe is a broad interdisciplinary research discipline involving different fields of physics. The main goal of the Excellence Cluster Universe is to face the fundamental challenges of modern cosmology by bridging the gap between the astrophysics and the particle, nuclear, plasma and astro physics communities. This will create synergies between the individual groups and at the same time result in new approaches to research into open questions relating to the physics of the Universe.
For this symposium the Cluster will present international top-level scientists from different areas of expertise. In the unique atmosphere of the former monastery the scientists will discuss insights into the current status and developments in their respective fields as well as their impact on other areas. The presentations given by the guest speakers will offer a unique variety of topics touching both theoretical and experimental physics.
